    Description

    A fine old antique Dayak Mandau. The hilt is antler, carved in a spirit head called Aso, the hair adornment missing from the top of the hilt. The blade is hand forged and narrow at the hilt and widens gradually toward the point. The point is in a style know as Mandau Slang refering to the tribal style wherre it was crafted.The good quality blade is concave on one side and convex on the other and has not been cleaned. The style of the blade point is called Lidjib indicating that the sword is from the region of Kutai.
    The side knife, (Pisau rant) is missing. The scabbard is worn from use and age as shown.
