    Description

    Vintage African fishing spear tip, barbed iron with pointed spear head, Sudanese. This was hand-hammered by one of the Nilotic tribes that live along the Nile River.  It was attached to a pole and used to spear fish. The Nile River runs the entire length of Sudan fro the southern border with Uganda to the northern border with Egypt. The spear head 11.5 inches long.  The widest part of the spear is 3/4 inch.  It weighs 5.2 ounces.
